Job Description

Imperium Commodity Search is working with an agricultural commodity trading house that are looking to further expand their trading desk with addition of a sugar trader. Our client is active in the market globally, primarily within sugar, coffee, and ethanol. Headquartered in Mumbai they cover the West African, European and Middle Eastern markets.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop relationships with end users, processors, and buyers of agricultural/soft commodity products (sugar, coffee, molasses, organics) with particular focus on specific countries in the Asia Pacific region
• Build new supplier partnerships whilst maintaining existing base
• Utilise negotiation techniques to agree favourable terms/pricing
• Analyse internal data to identify new business prospects
• Remain up to date with market analysis, capitalising on trading opportunities where possible
• Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth transaction and timely movement of goods
• Actively pursue new business to challenge PnL targets
• Act as cover for other traders on the desk when required

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2+ years' experience of trading any agricultural or soft commodity (grain, wheat, soybean, sugar, coffee) products
• Client focused mentality
• Export trading experience across agricultural/soft commodity (grain, cocoa, pulses, sugar) products
• Fluency in English, Hindi and Marathi
• Knowledge of logistics and operations
• Outstanding relationship building skills
• Strong understanding of the agri/soft commodity markets and ability to provide relevant analysis of market drivers
