Role Summary
The Junior Scientific Officer will support routine and specialized laboratory testing while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with NABL/ISO standards. The role involves daily sample processing, maintaining equipment, documenting QC/QA activities, and assisting senior scientific staff in ensuring seamless lab operations.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations

  • Perform routine and advanced diagnostic tests as per SOPs.
  • Process samples and validate test results with accuracy.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain analyzers and lab equipment.
  • Ensure TAT adherence across all assigned tests.
Quality & Compliance
  • Maintain compliance with NABL/ISO guidelines and lab safety protocols.
  • Perform daily QC checks, document deviations, and support EQAS activities.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of logs, reports, and quality files.
Coordination & Support
  • Coordinate with Lab Technologists and Senior Scientific Officers for smooth workflow.
  • Escalate non-conformities and assist in troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Monitor reagent usage, support inventory management, and verify lot details.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Ensure accurate data entry and result reporting through LIS systems.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and participate in internal audits.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of diagnostic laboratory techniques
  • Familiarity with QC/QA standards (NABL/ISO)
  • Hands-on experience with automated analyzers
  • Strong documentation and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under time constraints
  • Proficiency in LIS and MS Office tools

  • Zero deviations in QC/QA documentation
  • Efficient equipment handling and maintenance

Preferred Profile
  • 1-3 years of laboratory experience in diagnostics
  • Exposure to Biochemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, or Molecular workflows
  • Experience working in NABL-accredited laboratories
