Role Description:





Two full-time JRF positions are available in the following projects at Mahindra University-Virginia Tech (MU-VT) Interdisciplinary Advanced Research Center for Transformative Technologies (IARCT2):


Project 1

: Developing an Implementable and Sustainable MaaS Framework



The JRF will work on the design, development, and assessment of a MaaS (Mobility as a Service) ecosystem for Hyderabad city. This is an inter-disciplinary role, combines transportation engineering, data-driven modelling, and technology-enabled service integration to design and assess sustainable urban mobility solutions. The JRF will work closely with faculty investigators and engage with urban mobility stakeholders to develop actionable insights that support seamless multimodal travel. The candidate also participates in academic meetings and contributes to publishing research papers.


Project 2

: Advanced Traffic Management Systems using V2X Communications



The JRF will work on evaluating current V2X technologies and selecting the most effective solutions to enhance traffic management systems. It involves deploying roadside units (RSUs) and onboard units (OBUs) to enable V2X communication protocols for optimizing traffic in real time and improving safety. The JRF requires strong skills in wireless sensor networks, data analytics, and programming. The project will optimize real-time traffic data to improve signal timings, enable instant incident detection, and provide smart route recommendations.



Essential Qualifications


M.E./M.Tech. in Transportation Engineering/Urban Planning/Computer Science/Electronics and Communications/ or related fields. Experience with data analysis using tools such as Python / Matlab / R. Knowledge of policy, regulatory, and ethical considerations involved in transportation data use Good academic writing, communication, and documentation skills
