Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing facility in Coimbatore. The role involves ensuring that all products meet quality standards through inspection, testing, and documentation. This is an excellent opportunity for fresh mechanical engineering graduates to build a career in quality engineering within the heavy machinery manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct incoming material inspection and verify raw materials against specifications Perform in-process quality checks during manufacturing and assembly stages Carry out final inspection of finished equipment before dispatch Prepare and maintain quality inspection reports and documentation Identify non-conformances and coordinate with production team for corrective actions Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of preventive measures Calibrate and maintain inspection instruments and gauges Support internal and external audits (ISO 9001) Ensure compliance with quality standards and company procedures Collaborate with design and production teams to resolve quality issues
Required Skills and Competencies

Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals Knowledge of quality tools (7 QC Tools, FMEA, SPC basics) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T Familiarity with measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, CMM basics) Good analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and accuracy Effective communication skills (English, Tamil) Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems) Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards is a plus
