Key Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing quality inspection processes at different stages of PEB fabrication and erection.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of structural components (columns, rafters, beams, etc.) using standard tools.
Ensure that raw materials, welding, bolting, painting, and fabrication processes comply with drawings, standards, and specifications.
Monitor and record quality data such as inspection results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and material traceability.
Support senior QA/QC engineers during internal quality audits and third-party inspections.
Collaborate with fabrication, erection, and design teams to resolve quality-related issues at the shop or site.
Assist in the preparation of Inspection Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, and Quality Reports.
Learn and apply relevant codes and standards such as AWS, AISC, IS codes, etc.
Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and project-specific quality management systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
(Civil may also be considered with relevant knowledge).
1-2 years of experience in Quality Control / Assurance, preferably in steel fabrication or construction.
Basic understanding of PEB structures and components is an advantage.
Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, welding inspection, NDT basics, and quality documentation.
Knowledge of measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, weld gauges, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and ERP/QMS systems is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of industry standards such as IS 800, AISC, MBMA, AWS D1.1
Exposure to fabrication or erection site work in the steel or construction sector
Understanding of basic welding and surface preparation processes
