Job Title - Junior Merchandiser (Woven)

Location: Perungudi, Chennai

Junior Merchandiser Experience : 1-3 years

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Junior Merchandisers with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience specializing in woven fabrics, capable of independently handling end-to-end merchandising activities, including product development, costing, sourcing, production follow-ups, TNA management, and effective vendor coordination. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of fabrics, trims, production processes, wash techniques, cost negotiation, and buyer communication. This role requires someone capable of leading a team, managing multiple styles/seasons simultaneously, and ensuring timely delivery with high quality.

Skills Required

Strong communication and buyer-handling skills Deep knowledge of woven fabrics, trims, washes, and production flow Expertise in TNA planning and execution Strong in costing, negotiation, and price finalization Skilled in vendor sourcing and relationship management Proficient in Excel and ERP/Inventory systems Able to lead and guide junior team members Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Experience coordinating with sampling, design, production, and QA Capable of managing pressure, deadlines, and multiple styles simultaneously

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development &Planning

Lead proto sampling, development, and approvals Prepare tech packs, BOMs, spec sheets, and costing Identify fabric/trim issues and propose solutions Coordinate with design, sampling, and technical teams

Costing & Sourcing

Prepare cost sheets and negotiate pricing and lead times Finalize pricing with management Source, evaluate, and develop new vendors

TNA & Production Execution

Create and monitor TNA for all styles Ensure timely ordering and in-house status of fabrics and trims Coordinate production planning and resolve delays or issues Conduct weekly reviews with vendors and internal teams

Vendor & Buyer Management

Manage daily buyer and buying house communication Handle documentation, sampling, approvals, and comments Support audits, compliance activities, and vendor relationship building

Quality & Delivery

Ensure quality checkpoints throughout production Monitor washes, prints, embroidery, and job-work accuracy Achieve 100% on-time delivery Maintain updated reports, trackers, and approvals

Qualifications

? 1-3 years of experience in merchandising, with strong and proven experience in woven apparel

? Strong knowledge of Woven fabrics, trims, washes, and garment production

? Expertise in TNA planning and execution

? Excellent communication and buyer-handling skills

? Strong costing, negotiation, and analytical abilities

? Proficiency in Excel, ERP, and inventory systems

? Ability to lead junior team members and work cross-functionally

? Degree in Fashion Technology, Textile, Apparel, or related fields preferred. Masters is an advantage
