Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated legal professional to provide counsel and expertise in legal matters affecting our business. As Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing advice on corporate law, intellectual property, and other legal concerns, representing the company in legal proceedings, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws. This role demands strong analytical abilities, excellent negotiation skills, and the capacity to manage multiple legal matters efficiently.
Core responsibilities
Legal counsel:
Provide advice on legal matters, such as contracts, corporate law, and intellectual property.
Client representation
: Argue cases in court or other legal proceedings and represent clients' interests.
Document preparation:
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and pleadings.
Legal research:
Investigate laws, statutes, and case precedents to build a strong case or provide accurate advice.
Conflict resolution:
Help clients settle disputes, often through negotiation or mediation, to avoid litigation.
Compliance and risk management:
Ensure a business's activities meet legal requirements and advise on how to mitigate potential legal risks.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2+ years of experience in legal counsel or corporate law, preferably with experience in contracts, intellectual property, or litigation.
Strong research skills, attention to detail, and the ability to understand and apply complex legal concepts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience drafting legal documents.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with a proven track record of successful legal representation.
Ability to manage multiple cases or issues at once and prioritize accordingly.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks, risk management practices, and corporate governance.
Preference for candidates with experience working in a fast-paced or growing business environment.
