Job Description

The Junior Estimator will assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for furniture and interior fit-out projects. This includes quantity take-offs, material costing, labor estimation, and vendor coordination to ensure competitive and profitable project bids.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and cost estimates for furniture, joinery, and interior projects. Study drawings, designs, and specifications to calculate material and labor requirements. Collect and compare quotations from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors for furniture fittings, raw materials, and finishes. Support in preparing detailed cost sheets, rate analysis, and comparison reports. Maintain updated price lists for timber, plywood, hardware, upholstery, laminates, veneers, and other furniture/interior materials. Assist in preparing tender submissions and quotations in coordination with the estimation team. Work closely with the design and production team to ensure accuracy of costings. Track project variations and assist in revising estimates as needed. Maintain records of all estimation documents and correspondence. Support the team in ensuring estimates are delivered on time.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field. 0-2 years of experience in estimation (preferably in furniture, joinery, or interior industry). Basic knowledge of materials used in furniture and interior works (timber, laminates, hardware, finishes, etc.). Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD (knowledge of estimation/ERP software is an advantage). Strong numerical, analytical, and documentation skills. Good communication and coordination ability with suppliers and internal teams.
