Job Title: Junior Engineer Mechanical MaintenanceIndustry: Automotive ManufacturingLocation: Chennai Experience: 2-4 Years in Mechanical Maintenance (Automotive/Manufacturing Industry)Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical EngineeringSalary: 3 to 4 lpaJob Responsibilities:

Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment in automotive production lines. Troubleshoot and repair issues in press machines, conveyors, CNC/lathe machines, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, gearboxes, pumps, and compressors. Support installation, alignment, and commissioning of new machinery and mechanical systems. Monitor equipment performance, vibration levels, lubrication, and wear & tear for timely intervention. Maintain records of maintenance schedules, breakdown history, and spare parts management. Ensure compliance with safety standards, TPM, Kaizen, and 5S practices. Coordinate with electrical, automation, and production teams to minimize downtime and improve machine reliability. Suggest improvements for increasing machine efficiency and reducing maintenance costs.

Key Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, welding, and fabrication. Hands-on experience with CNC/automation equipment in the automotive sector. Familiarity with TPM, ISO/TS 16949, lean manufacturing practices. Good troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. Ability to work under pressure and ensure quick restoration of production. Team player with good communication skills.
