The Junior Electrical Engineer supports the operation and maintenance of electrical systems in the power plant. The role includes monitoring electrical equipment, assisting in repairs, and ensuring safe and smooth plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monitor natural gas based power plant engine electrical equipment such as transformer, motors, switchgear, MCC panels, and control systems.
2. Take daily readings of voltage, current, load, and power factor.
3. Report abnormalities like overheating, tripping, or unusual noise.
4. Assist in preventive and breakdown electrical maintenance.
5. Help in cable laying, termination, panel maintenance, and motor testing.
6. Support troubleshooting of electrical faults under senior engineers.
7. Maintain daily logs of electrical activities and equipment status.
8. Ensure safe electrical practices, LOTO procedures, and proper PPE usage.
9. Assist in maintaining spares like fuses, relays, cables, and breakers.
Skills & Qualifications
1. Diploma / B.E. in Electrical Engineering.
2. 1 -3 years of experience (power plant experience preferred).
3. Basic knowledge of electrical systems, panels, motors, and protection devices.
4. Ability to work in shifts and follow safety and plant procedures.
