Junior Cad Engineer

Year    GJ, IN, India

Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a

Junior

CAD Engineer who is excellent with SolidWorks and is comfortable supporting hands-on prototyping and early-stage R&D work.

Your primary role is CAD, drawings, DFM, and documentation -- but you will also help our engineering team with practical R&D support, including assembling prototypes, testing mechanisms, and assisting with quick design iterations.

This is a role for someone who enjoys both screen work and building real hardware.

Key Responsibilities

1. Core CAD Work (Primary Responsibility)

Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and clean manufacturing-ready drawings. Prepare BOMs, GD&T, tolerance considerations, and revision-managed documentation. Work on plastics, sheet metal, machined parts, and mechanism-heavy designs. Support reverse engineering and conversion/redesign of existing products. Perform basic design checks and assist with manufacturability assessments.

2. Prototyping & Lab Support (Secondary Responsibility)

Operate 3D printers, basic machining equipment, and fabrication tools (training provided). Assemble prototypes and test fits, motion, ergonomics, and structural aspects. Identify engineering issues in prototypes and provide inputs for CAD fixes. Organize prototype inventory, maintain test setups, and help prepare test reports.

3. R&D Support Tasks (As Needed, Guided)

Assist engineers during early concept trials and feasibility tests. Help prepare simple rigs, jigs, and fixtures for experiments. Document results, measurements, and observations. Research components, materials, and vendors for ongoing projects. Support multi-disciplinary engineering efforts (mechanical, electromechanical, automation).
(You are

not expected to independently own or lead R&D projects. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers.)

Skills & Qualifications

Required

Strong command of SolidWorks. Clear understanding of mechanical fundamentals, assemblies, and tolerances. Ability to produce clean, accurate, manufacturable drawings. Comfortable working with hand tools and assembling prototypes. Fast learner with the ability to adapt to new engineering tasks.

Preferred

Experience with 3D printing and basic shop equipment. Exposure to mechanisms and motion systems. Familiarity with DFM principles for plastics and CNC parts. Any experience working on medical devices or consumer hardware is a plus.

Traits We Value

Practical mindset -- enjoys both CAD and hands-on work. High ownership, low ego -- willing to pick up tasks outside strict CAD boundaries. Not afraid to get their hands dirty. Curiosity and willingness to learn quickly. Strong documentation habits and clarity in communication. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Why Work at Inspire Design

Work directly with mechanical engineers on cutting-edge products (medical & consumer). Be part of full product cycles: concept ? prototype ? testing ? manufacturing. Exposure to multi-disciplinary engineering and rapid prototyping labs. Fast-moving environment with high responsibility and strong growth potential. 1.20 - 1.80 LPA compensation, based on experience. 5 Day/week work culture.
