supports the Head Baker or Pastry Chef in preparing a variety of baked goods including bread, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other desserts. This role involves hands-on baking, following recipes, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and learning techniques to improve baking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and baking of bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts.
Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to maintain quality and consistency.
Measure, mix, knead, and proof doughs as directed.
Decorate cakes and pastries using icing, glazes, or other toppings.
Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and dough sheeters safely.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery station and equipment.
Monitor inventory levels and assist in receiving and storing supplies.
Follow food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP or equivalent).
Assist in experimenting with and testing new recipes under supervision.
Ensure timely preparation and delivery of bakery items during service.
Qualifications & Skills:
1-2 years of experience in a commercial bakery or pastry kitchen.
Basic knowledge of baking techniques, measurements, and kitchen safety.
Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Attention to detail and a passion for baking.
