Role description

We are looking for a

Junior AWS Engineer

with a focus on

Observability and Monitoring

to help implement, maintain, and optimize monitoring solutions across our AWS infrastructure. This role involves hands-on work with

AWS CloudWatch

,

CloudFormation

,

Python scripting

, and

CI/CD pipelines

, supporting the development of robust and automated observability systems.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and configure

AWS CloudWatch alarms

, dashboards, and metrics as per senior engineer designs. Validate

alarm thresholds

,

ing rules

, and

escalation workflows

. Assist in building and maintaining

monitoring dashboards

for key services and applications. Develop and integrate

custom application metrics

using Python and AWS services. Maintain clear and detailed

documentation

of alarm logic, thresholds, and operational decisions. Support

testing and validation

of observability utilities and scripts. Perform routine

operational tasks

in AWS environments to support system health and uptime. Serve as a

backup contributor

for maintaining and improving

runbook documentation

.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong understanding of

AWS CloudWatch

fundamentals (metrics, alarms, dashboards, logs). Experience with

AWS CloudFormation

and

YAML

for infrastructure configuration. Proficiency in

basic Python scripting

for automation and metric collection. Working knowledge of

AWS Lambda

and event-driven architectures. Experience using

Git

for version control. Familiarity with

Jenkins

or similar

CI/CD

tools.
