Position: AI Founding Engineer
Position Overview: We are seeking a talented AI Founding Engineer with 4-5 years of experience in backend software development and deep understanding of AI/ML systems to design, build, and deploy core AI components, focusing on RAG systems, knowledge graphs, coding agents, and efficient self-hosted inferencing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust backend systems for AI-powered developer tools.
Architect and implement advanced Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and knowledge graphs for domain-specific language models.
Develop and optimize self-hosted AI inferencing pipelines for high performance on on-premise and edge deployments.
Collaborate with AI/ML researchers to translate models into production-ready backend services.
Design and implement APIs and data pipelines that support complex AI workflows and integrations.
Contribute to deployment of AI solutions in enterprise environments including cloud and on-premise setups.
Collaborate with the founding team, product managers, and engineers to translate AI research into product features.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
Optimize platform performance, security, and data integrity for enterprise AI solutions.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
4-5 years of backend engineering experience with focus on AI/ML systems
Strong programming skills in Python
Proficiency with backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask
Experience designing and implementing RAG systems with embedding generation, vector databases, and retrieval strategies
Hands-on experience with knowledge graph technologies such as Neo4j or FAISS
Experience with self-hosted AI inferencing and optimization techniques like quantization and pruning
Experience deploying AI solutions on GPUs and specialized AI accelerators
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
Strong grasp of system design, data structures, and algorithms
Excellent problem-solving and ownership mindset
Preferred (Bonus) Skills:
Experience with enterprise on-premise software deployments
Knowledge of enterprise software compliance and security practices for AI/ML systems
Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and fine-tuning techniques
Experience with AI inference engines such as TensorRT, ONNX Runtime, or OpenVINO
Experience with MLOps including model versioning, monitoring, and pipeline orchestration
Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
