Job Description

A junior accountant in the automobile industry supports financial operations by handling daily accounting tasks like processing invoices, managing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling accounts. They assist with preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations (like GST and TDS), and supporting senior accountants with month-end and annual closings.

Key responsibilities :

Accounts management:

Process and record daily transactions, update accounts payable and receivable, and reconcile customer payments.

Invoicing and payments:

Receive, process, and verify invoices, expense forms, and payment requests.

Reconciliation:

Reconcile bank statements, cash positions, and various balance sheet accounts like prepaid expenses and intercompany transactions.

Data entry and reporting:

Update financial data in databases and prepare weekly/monthly reports and schedules.

Compliance and taxes:

Ensure transactions comply with relevant accounting principles, tax regulations (TDS, GST), and internal controls.

Support and assistance:

Assist senior accountants with month-end closing, audits, and other projects.

Specific tasks:

Handle petty cash, verify travel claims, and sometimes assist with incentive calculations.
