The Junior Accountant is a foundational member of the finance team, responsible for providing support to the accounting department by managing daily financial tasks. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end closures, and ensuring that all transactions are processed in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards. Knowledge of Tally is a must.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain the general ledger by processing journal entries and reconciling accounts in Tally
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Process invoices, verify expenses, and ensure timely payments to vendors.
Bank Reconciliation:
Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements to ensure the accuracy of cash records.
Reporting Support:
Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Compliance:
Support tax filings (Sales Tax, VAT, or Corporate Tax) and assist with internal and external audit preparations.
Data Integrity:
Update and maintain financial databases and filing systems to ensure all documentation is organized and retrievable.

Maintaining a low error rate in data entry and ledger posting.
Timeliness:
Meeting all month-end and year-end deadlines.
Efficiency:
Reducing the time taken to process accounts payable or resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
