We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Executive to manage procurement activities for raw materials, components, and services in a safety valve manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have experience in vendor management, technical procurement, and an understanding of IMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) compliance for documentation and supply chain processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing:
Source and procure raw materials, components, castings, fasteners, and services related to safety valve manufacturing.
Evaluate and compare vendor quotations based on price, quality, delivery, and compliance requirements.
Issue purchase orders and follow up on timely deliveries.
Maintain supplier database and assess supplier performance periodically.
Vendor Management:
Coordinate with suppliers for timely order execution, documentation, and issue resolution.
Support supplier audits and quality inspections in collaboration with the QA/QC department.
Ensure that suppliers comply with IMS and customer-specific requirements.
IMS Responsibilities:
Ensure procurement processes comply with IMS standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Maintain proper records of supplier approvals, material test certificates (MTCs), inspection reports, and delivery documents.
Participate in internal audits and ensure traceability and documentation control.
Support initiatives related to environmental sustainability and safety compliance in procurement activities.
Ensure control over non-conforming supplier materials as per IMS procedures.
Industry-Specific Tasks (Safety Valve Sector):
Understand material specifications such as ASTM standards, grades, and pressure ratings relevant to safety valves.
Coordinate with the engineering team to verify technical specifications before order placement.
Track procurement for project-based orders and ensure alignment with production schedules.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Supply Chain Management or related field.
2-4 years of experience in industrial procurement, preferably in valves or heavy engineering sector.
Knowledge of IMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and quality documentation in purchasing.
Familiarity with technical specifications for castings, forgings, and machined components.
Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.
Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in handling procurement for IBR/ASME-certified components.
Exposure to working with approved vendor lists (AVL) and global sourcing.
Knowledge of lean supply chain practices and cost optimization strategies.
