Conduct HRDD assessments in coordination with mill management, identifying and mitigating risks to workers' rights.
Develop and implement strategies to address workplace human rights issues, with particular focus on women's welfare and gender equity.
Provide training on human rights principles, including prevention of harassment, gender sensitivity, and anti-discrimination practices.
Collaborate with the sustainability manager of client companies to meet HRDD standards and ensure transparent communication.
Grievance Mechanisms: Support the development and monitoring of safe, anonymous grievance redressal mechanisms.
2. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS):
Develop, implement, and enforce OHS policies and practices at the workplace.
Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and site inspections to identify and resolve hazards.
Organize training programs to promote a culture of safety, focusing on vulnerable groups, including women and seasonal workers.
Investigate and document workplace accidents, ensuring that corrective and preventive actions are in place.
3. Fair Working Conditions and Women's Welfare:
Ensure compliance with fair wages, reasonable working hours, and equitable treatment of all workers.
Advocate for and address women's issues, including workplace safety, health, hygiene, and childcare support.
Work with HR teams to establish policies for maternity benefits, equal opportunities, and grievance redressal mechanisms for women workers.
Mediate conflicts and resolve grievances, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
4. Field Visits and Worker Engagement:
Conduct regular field visits to harvesting workers' camps to evaluate living conditions, access to health facilities, and compliance with labor laws.
Engage with workers to identify their concerns, ensuring their voices are incorporated into management decisions.
Document findings from field visits and prepare actionable recommendations for improvements.
5. Grievance Mechanisms:
Support the development and implementation of safe, anonymous grievance redressal mechanisms for workers.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of grievance systems, ensuring accessibility and fairness for all workers.
Address grievances promptly and transparently, maintaining a record of complaints and resolutions.
Conduct periodic reviews to improve grievance mechanisms based on feedback and best practices.
6. Stakeholder Coordination:
Act as the primary liaison between mill management, client representatives, and internal HRDD and sustainability teams.
Collaborate with external stakeholders, including NGOs, auditors, and government bodies, to promote compliance with human rights and safety standards.
Regularly update the sustainability manager of the company's clients on progress, challenges, and mitigation strategies.
7. Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare detailed reports on HRDD, OHS, and gender-related initiatives for internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and resolutions to support compliance and continuous improvement efforts.
Track and analyze KPIs related to HRDD, OHS, and women's welfare programs.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent qualification in Human Resources, Occupational Safety, or Social Sciences.
Certifications in HRDD, OHS, or gender studies (preferred).
MSc / BSc (Food Processing, Chemistry) .
