Job Description

Key Responsibilities: You will be responsible for maintaining fabric stock, ordering fabric, receiving fabric on time, working with artisans to plan production and deliver quality fabrics. In addition you will also be overseeing and meticulously managing all aspects of fabric movements, from procurement to final product assembly. The successful candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail. Supplier Relationship Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with fabric suppliers.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and ethical practices.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable agreements for the company.

Fabric Movement Tracking:

• Update fabric movement data in real-time on Excel and Tally systems.Generate and manage Purchase Orders (POs) and Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) for incoming materials.
• Monitor and record material in and out transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Propose and implement improvements to the existing systems for greater efficiency.

Inventory Control:

• Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date record of stock levels.
• Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Provide monthly closing stock reports for the unit.

Market Research and Trend Analysis:

• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies.
• Conduct regular market research to identify new and innovative fabrics that align with company standards.

Quality Assurance:

• Collaborate with the quality control team to establish and maintain stringent quality standards for all sourced fabrics.
• Address and resolve any quality issues with suppliers promptly.
• Stay informed about global regulations and compliance requirements related to fabric sourcing.

Cost Management:

• Develop and implement cost-effective sourcing strategies without compromising quality.
• Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Challans and Documentation:

• Prepare and verify challans for fabric shipments, ensuring compliance with delivery requirements.
• Check and validate incoming challans and bills for accuracy and completeness.
• Generate and manage documentation for job work entries, purchase/sales bills, and debit notes on tally.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality control, to understand fabric requirements and specifications.
• Collaborate with internal teams to drive continuous improvement in the sourcing process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related field.
• TALLY 9 - Advance level
• Excel/Google Sheets - Advance level
• 4-5 years experience in fabric sourcing, preferably in the garment manufacturing sector.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of the textile industry, including fabric types, manufacturing processes, and market trends.
• Familiarity with sustainability practices and ethical sourcing standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Languages - proficiency in English.
