The Junior Engineer - Estimation is responsible for preparing contract documents, conducting rate analysis, and implementing cost control measures during construction.
This role also involves providing expert advice on contractual claims, disputes, and ensuring compliance with project budgets and specifications.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Cost estimate targets during the design and development process, recommending cost effective solutions. Preparation of project wise Budget (PSE) with complete details, BOQ's, BOM
Gather proposals, specifications, and related documents in order to convert specifications to cost estimates.
Establish cost estimates of production processes and labour costs and review alternatives or put forward recommendations for improvement.
Monitor and review data and information to detect or assess problems. Investigate and identify cost reduction opportunities through cost analysis review.
Contribute to cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures and monitor trends
Prepare cost and expenditure statements, reports,
Assist for Preparation of P&L Statement
Support all activities in cost estimating and take a proactive approach towards improvements.
Provide cost estimates during change process and advise of cost impact of changes.
Competencies and Skills:
Educational Qualification
: Diploma /BE in Civil Engineering
Experience
: 2-4 years
Skills Required
:
Strong understanding of contract management, cost control, and value engineering principles.
Proficiency in using quantity surveying tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, CostX).
Excellent analytical skills for rate analysis and budget management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing contracts and resolving disputes.
Detail-oriented with the ability to track and monitor project progress effectively.
Accountability
Ensure accuracy in contract documentation and BOQs.
Monitor construction costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Provide timely and effective report on contractual matters.
Maintain thorough documentation and reports for compliance and audit purposes.
Authority
Authorized to recommend amendments to contracts or budgets based on project requirements.
Authorized to escalate terms related to claims or disputes with stakeholders and to the higher authority.
Authorized to approve rate analysis and cost adjustments within predefined thresholds.
Authorized to escalate unresolved contractual issues to higher management.
