The Junior Design Engineer will assist in preparing engineering drawings, layouts, and design modifications for metal components and assemblies. The role involves close coordination with production, quality, and senior design teams to ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare 2D drawings using
AutoCAD
as per customer and internal requirements
Assist in creating fabrication, bending, and assembly drawings
Modify existing drawings based on production or customer feedback
Coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve design-related issues
Maintain drawing records, revision control, and documentation
Support senior engineers in new product development and process improvement
Ensure drawings comply with industry standards and company norms
Assist in basic BOM (Bill of Materials) preparation
Required Skills
Proficiency in
AutoCAD (2D mandatory)
Basic knowledge of
sheet metal fabrication processes
(cutting, bending, welding)
Understanding of manufacturing tolerances and GD&T (basic level)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Good communication and coordination skills
Educational Qualification
Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
2 to 4 years
Experience or internship in metal manufacturing or fabrication industry preferred
