Junior Architect

Job Summary: We are seeking a creative and motivated Junior Architect with 2 to 4 years of experience to join our dynamic design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in architectural principles, design aesthetics, and technical skills, combined with a passion for sustainable and innovative design solutions. As a Junior Architect, you will support project teams in the design, development, and implementation of a variety of architectural projects, working closely with senior architects, project managers, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Design & Development:- Assist in the conceptual and schematic design phases of projects, contributing to design ideas, sketches, and plans.- Develop preliminary architectural designs, plans, and 3D models under the supervision of senior architects.- Conduct site analyses and surveys to support design decisions. 2. Drafting & Documentation:- Prepare architectural drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and other documentation in alignment with project requirements and industry standards.- Use software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite for drafting, rendering, and project documentation.- Maintain and organise project files, records, and data for easy access by the project team. 3. Technical Coordination:- Coordinate with consultants (structural, MEP, etc.) to integrate technical requirements into architectural designs.- Assist in ensuring compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards.- Support in the review of shop drawings, material samples, and technical submittals. 4. Collaboration & Communication:- Participate in project meetings with clients, stakeholders, and consultants to discuss project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.- Communicate design concepts and project updates effectively to team members and clients.- Contribute to client presentations and design reviews with creative input and solutions. 5. Construction Administration Support:- Support senior architects and project managers during the construction phase by reviewing project progress, conducting site visits, and documenting findings.- Assist in preparing field reports, responding to RFI's (Requests for Information), and coordinating with contractors on project details. 6. Research & Development:- Research materials, building systems, and design trends to inform project decisions.- Contribute to sustainable design initiatives and incorporate environmental best practices into project work. 7. Quality Assurance & Compliance:- Ensure all work aligns with the firm's quality standards, client specifications, and industry best practices.- Assist in conducting quality checks on design documents to identify potential issues and areas for improvement. Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.- 2-4 years of professional experience in architectural design and documentation.- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with 3D rendering software is a plus.- Knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and ADA compliance requirements.- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills.- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.- Passion for sustainable and innovative design practices.
