Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented

Junior Accountant

with at least 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the retail or jewelry industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling day-to-day accounting tasks, inventory reconciliation, and supporting financial operations specific to a jewelry business. Experience with gold/diamond accounting, billing, and compliance is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain day-to-day accounting records including purchase, sales, receipts, payments, and journal entries. Manage inventory accounting for

diamonds

gemstones

and o

ther jewelry items.

Handle GST, TDS, and other statutory filings as per applicable laws. Prepare and reconcile cash and bank statements daily. Support month-end and year-end closing processes. Manage billing and invoicing with proper HSN codes and tax structure for jewelry. Track stock movement and perform regular stock audits of gold and diamonds. Coordinate with karigars (craftsmen) for material issued/received and maintain related accounts. Generate financial reports, including profit & loss statements, trial balance, and balance sheet. Liaise with external auditors, suppliers, and tax consultants. Assist in managing customer advances, refunds, and installment tracking if applicable.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (M.Com or CA Inter is a plus). Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, ideally in a retail or jewelry environment. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and taxation (especially GST applicable to jewelry). Familiarity with jewelry-specific accounting software (e.g., Marg, JewelMate, or customized ERP). Good understanding of weight-based inventory (e.g., gold in grams, diamonds in carats). Proficiency in Tally ERP, MS Excel, and other relevant accounting tools.

Skills Required:

Accuracy and attention to detail, especially in gold and diamond accounting. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to handle sensitive financial data with integrity. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Time management and ability to work under deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

Experience working in a gold or diamond jewelry showroom. Knowledge of BIS hallmarking and jewelry valuation practices. Understanding of jewelry pricing, making charges, and related tax implications.
