Peter Lang is an international publishing group specialising in Humanities and Social Sciences. We publish about 1,000+ books every year in English, German, Spanish and French, as well as in multiple other languages, from traditional print products to eBooks and Open Access publications.?

You will experience an international work environment with lean management. The Peter Lang headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, are the central hub for management and administration. The rest of our team is based in continental Europe, Anglo-American regions, and Asia with offices in Berlin, Brussels, Chennai, New York, Oxford and supporting locations in Vienna, Warsaw, Istanbul and Madrid.

We are looking for a detail-oriented

Job Analyst

to master our pre-production and guarantee a smooth production. In this position you analyse and assess all manuscripts and do all preparatory work in pre-production allowing a smooth integration of our publishing projects into production.

You will work closely with colleagues in various departments, and should have a proactive, critical-thinking approach to managing your work. Training and support will be given, but a strong experience in a similar role is a prerequisite.

Key Responsibilities

Manuscript and content analysis

Assessment of manuscripts and content completeness Verification of metadata completeness Checking of editorial style information Definition of typesetting complexity level
Production Preparation

Segregation of chapters Provision of instructions to production Support for project scheduling
Coordination

Coordination with external service providers
Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor degree, preferably in Arts Minimum 3-5 years of experience in job analysis Strong understanding of academic publishing standards, including indexing, citation management, and copyediting best practices. Proficiency in English; German, French and Spanish a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with external service providers and internal teams Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines Attention to detail and commitment to quality: Demonstrated meticulousness in managing production details and maintaining high editorial standards. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office 365.
