The Jira Administrator would need to have at least 5+ years of experience. This resource would need to support overall Jira administration in both On-Prem (Server & Data Center) and Jira Cloud environments and be the go-to person for any Jira issues, enhancements and best practice questions.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Work closely with stakeholders to successfully complete IT infrastructure & development projects.
  • Hands-on experience in VMWare or AWS based On-Prem Server/Data Center environment with good Linux and SQL skills
  • Create complex JIRA Automation Rules, project workflows, field configurations, screen schemes, permission schemes and notification schemes
  • Experience on JQL, Groovy, JavaScript and REST API's
  • Hands-on experience in plugins such as ScriptRunner, Configuration Manager, Automation for Jira, Portfolio/BigPicture etc
  • Experience on PowerShell
  • Experience on managing both Software and Service Desk Projects in Cloud environment
  • Manage use/group permissions and project roles
  • Experience in migration of Jira data from Atlassian Cloud to On-Prem and from On-Prem to Cloud
  • Experience of merging the multiple Atlassian Cloud instances and the multiple On-Prem instances
  • Understands organizational and business functions and makes sound decisions.
  • Maintain the complete Jira instance in an efficient way so that it can be able to integrate with other tools in Atlassian
  • Improve the existing Jira instance performance.
  • Manage system access and permissions configurations to ensure compliance and enforce best practices
  • Create, manage and support on how to leverage Atlassian APIs for users to automate manual processes, implement business processes and extract data for reporting and analytics purposes
  • Support teams and senior executives with their reporting needs by developing dashboards directly in Jira.

Required Skills:
  • 4-6 years of experience in Jira Administration role
  • IT technical skills necessary to assist and/or assign IT requests
  • Ability to identify problems and deliver successful resolutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to document processes with appropriate text and visual components
  • Listening and interpretation skills
  • Must possess attention to detail with ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks
  • Strong customer service skills
