Jewellery Designer & Costing Executive Primary Responsibility: To prepare accurate, detailed, and commercially viable costing for Jewellery designs, ensuring alignment with production feasibility, material usage, and market pricing. Daily / Core Tasks 1. Design Analysis for Costing o Study CorelDRAW designs, or manual sketches. o Analyze design structure, complexity, and manufacturing process. 2. Gold Cost Calculation o Calculate gold weight based on design dimensions and karatage. o Include soldering, wastage, and loss percentages as per company standards. o Update costs based on daily gold rates. 3. Polki & Gemstone Costing o Estimate Polki diamond requirements (size, shape, quality). o Coordinate with sourcing team for current stone rates if required. 4. Labour & Process Costing o Calculate labour costs for: o Kundan/Polki setting, Jadai o Assembly and finishing o Factor in complexity, craftsmanship time, and skill level. 5. Component & Accessory Costing o Cost findings, locks, wires, backing plates, enamel, and other components. o Include polishing, rhodium (if applicable), and finishing charges. 6. Cost Sheet Preparation o Prepare detailed and standardized costing sheets and arrange it designers. o Maintain records for approved, revised, and rejected designs. 7. Rate & Cost Updates o Update gold, Polki, gemstone, and labour rates regularly. o Ensure costing reflects current market conditions. 8. Confidentiality o Maintain strict confidentiality of designs, costing, and pricing data. 9. Process Adherence o Follow company SOPs and costing benchmarks. o Ensure timelines are met without compromising accuracy.
