Job Description

A Jewelry CAD Designer uses specialized software to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings of jewelry, translating design concepts into manufacturable products. Key responsibilities include collaborating with design teams, ensuring design feasibility and accuracy for production, generating high-quality renderings for client presentations, and staying updated on design trends and techniques. Essential skills involve proficiency in CAD software like Rhino and Matrix, strong artistic vision, precision, and attention to detail. Responsibilities

3D Modeling:

Design and develop intricate 3D jewelry models using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, such as Rhino, Matrix, or JewelCAD.

Technical Drawings:

Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications for production, ensuring accuracy and feasibility for manufacturing processes like casting.

Collaboration:

Work closely with jewelry designers and production teams to develop concepts, refine designs, and enhance creativity.

Rendering & Visualization:

Create high-quality 3D renderings and visualizations for client presentations and internal review.

Trend Awareness:

Stay informed about current jewelry design trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques to drive innovation.

Quality Control:

Monitor the design and sampling process to ensure precision and manufacturability.
Required Skills and Qualifications

CAD Software Proficiency:

Strong command of specialized jewelry CAD software.

3D Modeling Skills:

Ability to create detailed, precise 3D models.

Technical Drawing:

Expertise in creating accurate technical drawings and specifications.

Design & Creativity:

An artistic eye for design, coupled with the ability to translate conceptual ideas into digital formats.

Attention to Detail:

Meticulous precision in all aspects of the design process.

Knowledge of Manufacturing:

Understanding of jewelry manufacturing processes, including casting.

Education & Portfolio:

A degree in a relevant field (Jewelry Design, Product Design) and a strong portfolio showcasing design skills are often required.

Teamwork:

Ability to collaborate effectively with a design and production team.
