The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements
• Identify and analyze issues, make recommendations, and implement solutions
• Utilize knowledge of business processes, system processes, and industry standards to solve complex issues
• Analyze information and make evaluative judgements to recommend solutions and improvements
• Conduct testing and debugging, utilize script tools, and write basic code for design specifications
• Assess applicability of similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures
• Develop working knowledge of Citi\xe2\x80\x99s information systems, procedures, standards, client server application development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, data center operations, and PC-based applications
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm\'s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Experience in programming/debugging used in business applications
• Working knowledge of industry practice and standards
• Comprehensive knowledge of specific business area for application development
• Working knowledge of program languages
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

GCB (Global Consumer Banking) - Retail Risk is a critical workstream of GRCT (Global Risk and Controls Technologies) under GFT (Global Functions Technology) of Citibank, the core work of this work stream is towards enhancing applications by the requirements driven by FRB (Federal Reserve Board) and OCC (Officer of Comptroller Currency). The application is responsible for Regulatory Submission across various Retail Business Functions. The Business Functions includes Retail CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review), FDIC (Financial Deposits and Insurance Corporation), BASEL accord, LLR (Lone Loss Reserves) and other Regulatory and non-regulatory Business functions. The purpose of these submissions is to ensure the bank has appropriate capital to function well during stressful scenarios. Our road map ahead \xe2\x80\x93 GCB Retail Risk is faced with critical challenge with an organization initiative called \xe2\x80\x9cConsent Order\xe2\x80\x9d, this program is planned to be developed in phases over a period of 3 years and beyond. This program has many applications under its umbrella, the requirements are driven by regulators to ensure digitization, eliminate manual touch points and improve processes towards straight through processing. GCB Retail Risk employs cutting edge technologies (Java/Big Data (Hadoop)/Java-Spark, Py-Spark) for its applications development, Retail applications are a full-grown Big Data (Hadoop)/Spark Solution and working towards making the application more scalable and robust. The application process over 300 million records on a month to month in EAP (Enterprise Analytical Platform) using Java-Spark written algorithms.
