Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect / Engineering Manager to take on a dual role that blends hands-on technical leadership with engineering management responsibilities. You will play a critical role in designing scalable software systems, setting engineering standards, and mentoring development teams. This is a Mid-Senior-Level opportunity
requiring a deep technical foundation, strategic thinking, and team leadership, with approximately 50% of your time dedicated to code reviews and technical contributions to your team members via giving them right solution approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Hands-on Technical Leadership:
Contribute hands-on to the codebase/ code reviews (~50% time), leading by example to promote engineering excellence.
Provide architectural direction and technical oversight for building scalable, secure, and high-performance software systems.
Break down complex technical epics and features into actionable tasks and collaborate closely with Agile scrum teams for execution.
Review and approve major design and architecture decisions to ensure alignment with long-term technical vision.
Establish and drive the technical strategy and engineering roadmap in sync with product goals.
Lead code reviews, enforce best practices, and guide engineering teams on architectural patterns, system design, and optimization.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Team s Stakeholder Coordination:
Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders to shape product vision and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Promote and implement DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile development best practices to ensure streamlined software delivery.
Mentor and coach engineers to support their technical and career development.
Help foster a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture focused on quality and continuous improvement.
Qualifications s Experience:
Bachelor's OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership or engineering management role.
Proven experience in leading distributed engineering teams and delivering large- scale, mission-critical software systems.
Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, and API-driven design.
Deep hands-on experience with Java / J2EE, Spring Framework / Spring Boot, and optionally Kotlin.
Proficient in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Good understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development lifecycle management.
Exposure to secure software development practices including encryption techniques, secure data transmission, and data privacy regulations.
Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
Bonus:
o Experience with Python or C++, or Kotlin.
o Knowledge OR exposure to AI/ML and ML infrastructure.
o Familiarity with frameworks and methodologies such as Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, or Event-Driven Architecture.
o Experience in biometrics technology, and digital identity products and services.
o Proven experience in various biometric technologies such as fingerprint
recognition, iris recognition, facial recognition, voice recognition, and other biometrics modalities.
o Proven experience in developing and deploying very large biometrics matchers and components.
