Job Overview:


CGI seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in Spring Boot, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and GraphQL. The candidate will be responsible for developing scalable backend systems, integrating real-time data streams, and building efficient APIs to support modern, data-driven applications.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend applications using Java Spring Boot. Build and manage real-time data pipelines using Apache Kafka. Implement Elasticsearch for data indexing, searching, and analytics capabilities. Develop and integrate GraphQL APIs for optimized data retrieval. Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Ensure application scalability, performance, and reliability through best coding practices. Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and deployment planning.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture. Proficiency in Apache Kafka (topics, producers, consumers, partitions). Solid understanding of Elasticsearch (indexing, queries, aggregations). Experience with GraphQL API development and integration. Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and SQL/NoSQL databases. Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
