To be a successful Java developer, you should have experience with:

Proven track record in architecting high-performance applications while adhering to stringent quality standards. Advanced proficiency in Java 8+ with deep expertise in Core Java fundamentals, RESTful API development, concurrent programming, memory optimization, and application profiling. Comprehensive experience with Spring ecosystem including Spring Boot 2.x/3.x, Spring Batch, Spring JDBC, and Hibernate JPA frameworks. Practical application of SOLID design principles and established software design patterns. Expertise in testing frameworks including JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock, and Spring testing utilities. Strong foundation in architectural design patterns and system integration methodologies. Hands-on experience with containerized application deployment using Docker and Kubernetes platforms. Proficiency with source control management tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or GitLab. Exceptional troubleshooting abilities and analytical problem-solving skills. Demonstrated experience working within Agile development frameworks. Methodical approach to complex problem resolution with capability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams. Track record of successfully coaching and developing junior team members.

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in Docker containerization and hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms such as Amazon ECS/EKS or Kubernetes. Understanding of networking fundamentals and cloud networking architectures including VPC design, subnet configuration, network peering, and firewall management. Valid AWS professional certification(s) demonstrating cloud expertise.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, implement, and maintain various statistical, mathematical and machine learning models to support decision-making by analysis and solving complex problems.

Accountabilities

Acquisition and collection of data from various sources, including internal databases, external datasets, and real-time feeds. Performing data cleaning and pre-processing tasks to ensure data quality and suitability for model development. Design and implementation of data management strategies for model maintenance and future development. Designing, development, and implementation of statistical and machine learning models for various applications, including credit risk assessment, fraud detection, customer segmentation, and marketing optimisation. Monitoring model performance in real-time and identify any potential issues or biases.
