Role Overview

We are hiring a senior engineer/tech lead to drive the architecture, design, and development of

high-scale backend services

.
You will own technical decisions, mentor developers, and ensure the platform is robust, scalable, observable, and secure.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

Lead design of

high-performance microservices

Define best practices for coding, service design, API architecture, and reliability Drive improvements in scalability, performance, and system resilience

Deep Technical Ownership

Optimize JVM performance, GC tuning, thread pools, and async processing Architect event-driven workflows using

Kafka

Define efficient caching strategies using

Redis

Own schema design, DB performance tuning, and connection management Implement secure configurations using

Vault/Secret Manager

Infrastructure & DevOps Collaboration

Work with DevOps/SRE teams on Kubernetes deployments Ensure services meet observability standards (metrics, logs, tracing) Participate in capacity planning, load testing, and stress testing

Leadership & Mentoring

Mentor mid-level developers and conduct detailed code reviews Guide the team on architecture decisions and design patterns Partner with product and engineering managers for roadmap discussions

Required Skills

Strong expertise in

Java

and Spring Boot Deep experience with

microservices

distributed systems

concurrency

Strong understanding of

Kafka

(partitions, consumer groups, scaling) Expertise in

Redis

, caching strategies, and performance tuning Excellent knowledge of

PostgreSQL/MySQL

including indexing, query tuning Strong command of containerization and orchestration (

Docker + Kubernetes

) Familiar with

API security

, OAuth2, TLS, and config/secret management Experience designing systems for

high throughput

low latency

Good to Have

Experience with

service meshes

, API gateways, rate limiting Strong understanding of

distributed tracing

and observability (ELK/OpenTelemetry/Prometheus) Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines Architectural certification or system design expertise is a plus
