An ITI Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and executing site activities, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of work as per project requirements. They act as a link between the project manager, contractors, and workers at the site.
1. Site Supervision
Monitor day-to-day activities at the site.
Ensure that work is carried out as per drawings, designs, and specifications.
Check quality of materials and workmanship.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and workers for smooth execution.
2. Technical Support
Assist in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment or systems (depending on trade - electrical, mechanical, or civil).
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
Troubleshoot technical issues on-site and report to senior engineers.
3. Safety & Compliance
Ensure all safety standards are followed at the site.
Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness with workers.
Report hazards or unsafe practices immediately.
4. Material & Resource Management
Check availability of materials, tools, and equipment at site.
Maintain records of material received and used.
Raise requirements for shortage of resources.
5. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain daily work progress reports.
Assist in preparing measurements, site logs, and records for billing purposes. Communicate site progress and issues to the project engineer/manager.
6. Coordination
Liaise between project managers, contractors, and workers.
Attend site meetings and implement instructions from senior management.
Ensure timelines and milestones are met.
