is responsible for ensuring that machined components used in gas equipment and related systems meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. The role requires precision in inspection, adherence to technical specifications, and a strong commitment to industry safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inspection & Quality Control
Perform in-process, first-piece, and final inspection of machined components (CNC, Lathe, Milling, Drilling, Auto-lath/Traub).
Verify critical dimensions, tolerances, and finishes as per engineering drawings and gas industry standards.
Inspect pressure-related and safety-critical parts (valves, flanges, connectors, nozzles, etc.).
Identify non-conformities and raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
2. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain inspection records, rejection logs, and calibration reports.
Ensure compliance with ISO, ASME, API, PESO, OISD, or other applicable gas-industry standards.
Support audits, customer inspections, and certification requirements.
3. Coordination & Support
Provide feedback to operators on machining deviations and suggest corrective actions.
Coordinate with Quality and Production teams for root cause analysis of defects.
Support preventive maintenance of measuring instruments and gauges.
4. Safety & Regulatory Adherence
Follow safety procedures for handling gas-industry components (flammable, pressure-rated, or hazardous parts).
Ensure 5S, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), and shop floor discipline.
Report unsafe conditions or potential risks immediately.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of machining processes (CNC, Lathe, Milling, Drilling, Auto-lath/Traub).
Proficiency in measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Dial Indicators, Surface Roughness Tester, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and pressure equipment codes.
Knowledge of Gas Industry standards (ASME, API, ISO, PESO, OISD preferred).
High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and safety awareness.
Basic computer proficiency (MS Excel/ERP for inspection reporting).
2-5 years in a machine shop, preferably in Gas / Oil & Gas / Pressure Vessel / Valve / Energy industry.
