Role Summary:
The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for managing and supporting Vyapi's IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient operation of servers, networks, and end-user systems. This role involves hands-on technical support, system administration, troubleshooting complex issues, and proactively improving IT services to meet business needs. The position works closely with internal teams to align technology with organizational objectives while maintaining high standards of security, performance, and user satisfaction.
Scope of work
As our IT Support and Administration professional, you'll be responsible for the following:
Providing hands-on technical assistance to server and network systems, including provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software, and related infrastructure.
Independently handling assigned IT service tickets.
Monitoring system performance and identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing, analyzing, and solving complex problems, and demonstrating excellent troubleshooting skills.
Managing and maintaining user accounts, access control, and data security protocols.
Developing and implementing IT policies and procedures, including backup and disaster recovery plans.
Evaluating and recommending new hardware and software solutions that will improve the organization's IT infrastructure.
Assisting in the selection and purchase of new hardware and software.
Training new users and providing ongoing training and support to existing users of the organization's IT systems.
Proactively staying in touch with the business/users and understanding their needs.
Performing occasional data centre hands-on administration duties.
Collaborating with other departments to ensure that IT systems are aligned with business objectives.
Maintaining accurate records of IT assets, licenses, and warranties.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in computer science/ information technology, or a related field.
Around 6+ years of experience in IT support and administration.
Experience and skills we would desire are related to Linux, Data Center, Database (MSSQL), Microsoft 365, and Storage Solution(s).
Experience with network administration and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of data security protocols and best practices.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Previous experience working with Windows Server OSs, Server Hardware, Server Troubleshooting, Windows Domains, Active Directory and Domain Services, IT Infrastructure Monitoring Solution(s), Data Backup/Restore Solution(s), Scripting (e.g., PowerShell), and Networking Basics.
