Job Description

System and Network Maintenance

Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and software used across the newsroom and production units. Monitor and manage the local area network (LAN), internet connectivity, and Wi-Fi infrastructure. Troubleshoot network problems, system crashes, and connectivity issues. Ensure all systems are regularly updated with security patches and antivirus protection.

2. User Support and Troubleshooting

Provide on-site and remote technical support to newsroom staff, editors, anchors, and production teams. Respond promptly to user issues involving desktop PCs, laptops, printers, or broadcast-related software. Diagnose and resolve problems related to video editing systems, newsroom software (like ENPS, iNEWS, Octopus, etc.), and file servers. Maintain a ticketing system for tracking and resolving support requests efficiently.

3. Broadcast and Media System Support

Support and troubleshoot newsroom automation systems, video playout servers, and MCR (Master Control Room) IT infrastructure. Manage media storage servers, NAS/SAN systems, and ensure smooth access for editing and playback teams. Coordinate with broadcast engineers for technical alignment between IT systems and on-air equipment. Ensure uninterrupted data flow between field reporters, editing suites, and on-air systems.

4. Data Security and Backup Management

Implement and monitor data security protocols to protect confidential media content and network integrity. Set up user accounts, permissions, and data access controls as per policy. Schedule and manage daily data backups and disaster recovery plans. Maintain software licenses and ensure compliance with IT policies.

5. Hardware and Software Management

Maintain inventory of IT assets, including computers, routers, switches, and broadcast servers. Assist with the procurement, installation, and configuration of new IT equipment. Keep software updated and maintain records of licenses, warranties, and serial numbers. Coordinate with vendors for repair and service support when required.

6. System Integration and Upgradation

Assist in integrating new newsroom technologies, software updates, and media automation tools. Support transitions to new systems like cloud-based editing or media archiving solutions. Work closely with broadcast engineers during upgrades or equipment testing.

7. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain detailed logs of IT incidents, system updates, and maintenance activities. Prepare periodic reports on system performance, downtime, and IT asset usage. Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT processes.

8. Coordination and Team Support

Work collaboratively with Newsroom, Production, and MCR teams to ensure smooth technical operations. Support live broadcasts, field teams, and outdoor productions with IT setup and connectivity. Train newsroom staff on the proper use of IT tools, applications, and security practices.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
