Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused IT Support Specialist to join our team. This role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering timely and effective support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support:
Provide first-level support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently, escalating complex issues when necessary.
Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of workstations, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
2. System Maintenance & Monitoring:
Perform regular system checks, updates, and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor system performance and security, identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities.
3. User Assistance & Training:
Assist users with software installations, updates, and general technical guidance.
Conduct basic training sessions to help employees understand IT systems and best practices.
4. Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of technical issues, solutions, and user requests in the ticketing system.
Prepare reports on system performance, recurring issues, and support activities.
5. Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with other team members and departments to resolve technical challenges.
Communicate technical concepts in simple terms to non-technical users.
Required Qualifications:
ITI/ Diploma/ Bachelor's degree
0-2+ years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and common software applications.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, etc.).
Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and remote desktop tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
