The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical support for all IT systems across office and production areas. This includes maintaining hardware, network, ERP, and security systems to ensure uninterrupted operations in the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-site technical support for desktop systems, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment used in office and production areas.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, ERP software, and production-related applications.
Monitor and maintain local area network (LAN), Wi-Fi connectivity, and internet uptime across departments and shop floors.
Support and manage IT peripherals like barcode scanners, label printers, and data terminals used in production.
Set up and maintain email accounts, user permissions, and access controls as per company policy.
Perform regular data backups, antivirus updates, and system maintenance to ensure IT security.
Manage and maintain CCTV surveillance systems, biometric attendance devices, and intercom systems.
Coordinate with ERP vendors for issue resolution and system updates.
Maintain IT asset inventory (hardware, software, and licenses) and ensure records are up to date.
Provide first-level support to users, ensuring minimal downtime in production and administrative operations.
Assist in IT infrastructure planning for new projects, installations, and system upgrades.
Liaise with external vendors for IT procurement, AMC services, and technical support.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
2-5 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setup.
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, networking (LAN/WAN, IP configuration, switches, routers), and basic server management.
Experience in supporting ERP systems and database connectivity.
Familiar with CCTV, biometric attendance, and network-based device maintenance.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
Strong communication skills and ability to support non-technical users.
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage):
Knowledge of SQL database or ERP administration.
Experience with firewall configuration and data security management.
Familiarity with factory automation systems, PLCs, or MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
Exposure to cloud backup, Office 365, or remote support tools.
