IT Support Job Overview:

The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems within the organization. The role ensures smooth day-to-day IT operations, user support, and the upkeep of IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Hardware Support

Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment. Diagnose and repair hardware-related issues (motherboards, RAM, hard drives, peripherals, etc.). Coordinate with vendors for warranty claims and spare parts replacement. Maintain IT asset records and ensure periodic preventive maintenance.

Software Support

Install, update, and configure operating systems and application software. Troubleshoot software-related issues (OS errors, application crashes, compatibility problems). Manage antivirus, firewalls, and other security tools. Provide support for ERP, email clients, and productivity tools (MS Office, Google Workspace, etc.).

Network & Systems Support

Provide basic troubleshooting for LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity issues. Support setup and configuration of switches, routers, and firewalls (basic level). Monitor system performance and ensure data backup & recovery processes

User Support & Coordination

Respond to helpdesk tickets, calls, and emails for technical support. Train employees on safe IT usage and basic troubleshooting. Document technical solutions, maintain logs, and prepare status reports.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field. 2-4 years of experience in IT support (hardware + software). Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and/or macOS environments. Familiarity with networking basics . Good problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure.
