Job Description

Role Purpose



The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for ensuring seamless IT operations in an IT training environment, with a strong focus on cloud lab-based setups, daily laptop/system readiness, and robust server/data backup processes. The role demands hands-on expertise in cloud technologies, networking, and end-user support to create a reliable and secure IT infrastructure for both trainers and learners.

Key Responsibilities



1. Cloud Lab Environment Management



Design, configure, and deploy

cloud-based training labs

using AWS, Azure, or GCP. Set up

virtual machines, sandbox environments, and simulators

required for technical training. Create standardized lab images for repeat training sessions. Monitor cloud resource utilization, optimize costs, and ensure lab uptime during training. Troubleshoot cloud lab issues in real-time during ongoing sessions. Automate lab provisioning using scripts/tools to improve efficiency.

2. Laptop & Desktop Maintenance



Perform

daily health checks

of laptops, desktops, and training machines. Install, configure, and update

operating systems, drivers, and training-specific software

. Ensure proper functioning of

IDE tools, databases, SDKs, and training applications

. Manage antivirus, malware protection, and ensure compliance with IT security policies. Conduct preventive maintenance and keep an inventory of IT assets. Provide

quick turnaround support

for any hardware/software issues faced by trainers or participants.

3. Server Administration & Data Backup



Manage local/remote

servers and storage systems

. Ensure

regular backups

of critical data, training resources, and configurations. Maintain a

disaster recovery plan

and test recovery processes periodically. Monitor server performance, logs, and security alerts. Ensure data integrity and compliance with

data protection policies

.

4. Network & Connectivity Management



Set up and maintain

LAN/Wi-Fi, switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs

. Troubleshoot connectivity issues affecting trainers, trainees, or servers. Monitor

network bandwidth usage

during training labs and optimize performance. Implement

network security policies

to prevent unauthorized access. Coordinate with ISPs/vendors for uptime, AMC, and escalations.

5. Training & User Support



Provide

IT support during live and online training sessions

. Assist trainers in setting up

projectors, AV systems, video conferencing tools (Zoom/MS Teams/Google Meet)

. Create

IT guidelines/manuals

for trainers and participants on lab usage. Train staff on

basic troubleshooting

and best practices. Maintain IT support logs and ensure quick resolution of raised tickets/issues.

6. IT Asset & Vendor Management



Maintain up-to-date

IT asset register

(laptops, servers, networking devices, peripherals). Oversee procurement of

hardware/software licenses

in coordination with management. Manage AMC contracts and vendor relationships for IT services/hardware repairs. Ensure

cost-effective utilization

of IT resources.

Required Skills & Competencies



Strong hands-on experience with

AWS / Azure / GCP cloud platforms

. Proficiency in

Windows/Linux OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting

. Familiarity with

VMware, VirtualBox, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms

. Solid understanding of

networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewalls)

. Experience with

server backup tools and data recovery mechanisms

. Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation of IT tasks (added advantage). Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills to interact with trainers, management, and trainees. Ability to work in a

fast-paced training environment

with multiple ongoing sessions.

Educational Qualification



Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications preferred:

AWS/Azure/GCP Associate Level, MCSA, CCNA, ITIL
