The IT support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT systems, hardware, and software to the client, Central Govt Organisation at Panvel, Mumbai. This role ensures the smooth operation of IT infrastructure, assists in resolving technical issues, and provides excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support:
Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
Provide first-line support for system outages and escalate issues as needed.
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, Linux) and standard applications.
2. System Maintenance:
Perform regular hardware and software maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
Apply system updates, patches, and fixes.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
3. Network Support:
Assist in setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting network devices such as routers, switches, and access points.
Ensure network connectivity for users and devices.
Support basic cybersecurity practices and configurations.
4. Customer Service:
Respond promptly to user inquiries and provide clear technical guidance.
Document support activities and solutions for future reference.
Train users on IT systems and best practices.
5. Inventory and Asset Management:
Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets.
Recommend and coordinate hardware upgrades or replacements.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with IT teams and vendors to resolve complex issues.
Provide input for IT policies and best practices.
Qualifications:
Certification: CompTIA A+ or similar Certification (required).
Education: Associate's degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience: 1-3 years in an IT support or helpdesk role.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of PC and peripheral hardware.
Understanding of operating systems, including Windows and Linux.
Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Familiarity with troubleshooting tools and software.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
