Position Overview:
We are seeking a Workday Solution Architect with a strong background in designing and implementing Workday solutions to support the unique needs of an innovative and fast-paced EdTech organization. This role will lead system architecture and solution strategy to optimize HR, Finance, and operational processes, ensuring alignment with business goals and the dynamic demands of the education technology sector.
Key Responsibilities:Architect and lead the implementation of scalable Workday solutions across HCM, Financials, Payroll, Talent Management, and related modules.
Partner with People Operations, Finance, IT, and Learning & Development teams to design solutions that support growth, compliance, and an employee-centric culture.
Translate complex business requirements into practical, sustainable Workday configurations and integrations.
Lead the architecture for integrating Workday with other EdTech systems (e.g., Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Information Systems (SIS), CRM platforms).
Build and maintain a scalable Workday framework to support global operations, including faculty, staff, contractors, and seasonal education workers.
Ensure compliance with education sector-specific regulations (e.g., FERPA, data privacy, financial aid reporting) within Workday design.
Stay ahead of Workday's new release features and recommend adoption strategies specific to EdTech operational needs.
Troubleshoot system issues, recommend enhancements, and provide hands-on configuration where necessary.
Mentor Workday administrators, analysts, and cross-functional business users.
Support change management initiatives by ensuring that system changes are clearly communicated and user-friendly for non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
7+ years of Workday experience, including at least 3 years in a Solution Architect role.
Strong hands-on expertise across multiple Workday modules (e.g., HCM, Financials, Recruiting, Learning, Talent).
Proven experience in designing and implementing Workday integrations (Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, APIs).
Deep understanding of how HR and Finance processes operate in education or EdTech environments.
Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Workday certifications (HCM, Financials, Integrations) strongly preferred.
Experience with systems and processes specific to educational institutions (e.g., faculty contracts, academic scheduling).
Familiarity with data privacy laws impacting educational settings (e.g., FERPA, GDPR, CCPA).
Previous experience with rapid growth organizations or startups, preferably in the EdTech or SaaS space.
Experience with Workday Extend and building custom apps within Workday is a plus
Proven success in working with or within US-based organizations, with an understanding of global work cultures and communication styles.
Experience working in a scaled agile organization or distributed agile team.
