WHAT YOU'LL DO

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering software solutions for various BCG initiatives supporting the firm’s Finance function, with a focus on application integrations and custom software tools or components. You will oversee custom API development and integration operations, custom scripting and bespoke tools developed in-house to augment capabilities not available in our core financial platforms.
Working in an Agile squad environment, the candidate will be a hands-on contributor to all aspects of the product delivery cycle. As a key technical resource, you will work closely with other groups in building new functionality, assisting with architectural designs, helping to define sprints, and partnering to turn requirements into reality. The candidate will serve as line manager for our software engineers who are responsible for the ongoing development, configuration, and maintenance of the expanding set of tools in our catalogue. The candidate will oversee operations as well as perform all other related tasks, such as

• Lead development efforts, including new functionality or enhancements of existing tools
• Design, implement and maintain robust integrations between applications
• Work with vendors on interface modifications, customizations, technical support issues and future software upgrades
• Oversee release management and ensure best practices are followed during each initiative or small enhancement update
• Lead technical analysis of both packaged software solutions and custom-built applications
• Assist and provide technical support on issues, to ensure proper root cause analysis and quick remediation
• Write concise and clear Technical Systems Design documents, based on analysis of business requirements
• Manage vendor relationships for both our purchased software platforms and any contract workers as needed
• Work collaboratively with team in supporting the current application environment

YOU'RE GOOD AT

• 
  Applying Agile software development methodologies and principles, including work estimation techniques
• Working closely with key stakeholders and providing a high level of customer service in a friendly, professional manner
• Expert problem-solving skills and strong analytical thinking, with the ability to determine issue root causes and produce creative solutions
• Guiding a modern architecture, including API-first integration architecture, advanced data layer, software development best practices and business continuity considerations
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Showing a commitment to deliver high quality work on time
• Working with multicultural distributed team located in different time zones and have the capacity to work on multiple projects concurrently.
• Excellent documentation skills
• Working independently with limited direction

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

• 
  College degree and 8+ years of experience in the delivery of business applications in a commercial IT setting, or in consulting
• Software development experience with expert knowledge in at least 1 programming language/framework (C#, Java, Python, React.js/javascript, etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of Agile concepts and DevSecOps tooling (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions and Jira Boards)
• Excellent understanding of cloud native solutions in Azure & AWS (Azure Logic Apps/Web Apps, AWS Lamda/MQ/etc.)Software delivery and management skills with experience in API development, cloud technologies and devops practices
• Experience building secure modern applications with modern architectures
• Good understanding of security best practices from development and deployment perspective
• Good to have some knowledge of mobile application deployments, especially with iOS
• Strong technical competence, with the ability to rapidly learn new tools and technologies
• Able to adapt easily to changing requirements and priorities
