Smart Hands IT Support Engineer - End User Computing

Role Summary

The Smart Hands IT Support Engineer provides on-site, hands-on technical assistance for end-user devices and workplace IT infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting, setup, maintenance, and coordination with remote support teams to ensure uninterrupted IT service delivery to business users.

Key Responsibilities

Provide on-site support for end-user devices -- desktops, laptops, docking stations, monitors, and peripherals. Perform hardware replacements, upgrades, and basic repairs following company standards. Support operating systems and application installations, including Microsoft 365, VPN clients, and collaboration tools. Handle incident and service requests raised via Ticketing system Manage user onboarding and offboarding -- device provisioning, AD account setup, and access rights coordination. Assist in network connectivity troubleshooting (LAN, Wi-Fi, IP, printer mapping). Maintain local IT inventory, asset tagging, and hardware lifecycle documentation. Perform periodic preventive maintenance and ensure compliance with IT security and patching policies - on Demand Coordinate with remote support, infrastructure, and security teams for escalations and issue resolution. Adhere to ITIL processes for incident, request, and change management.

Technical Skills Required

Strong hands-on experience with Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory. Familiarity with device imaging, BitLocker encryption, and endpoint protection tools. Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP). Exposure to SCCM / Intune / Endpoint Manager for device deployment and compliance. Experience with hardware troubleshooting and replacement for end-user devices. Knowledge of printing and peripheral setup, as well as remote access tools

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field. 2-5 years of hands-on IT support experience in a corporate environment. Certifications such as Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator (MD-102) ITIL Foundation preferred.

Soft Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service orientation and ownership mindset. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within SLAs. Professional appearance and conduct in user-facing roles.
