The IT Project Manager - Digital Initiatives will lead, plan, and deliver digital transformation projects in a manufacturing environment. This position works closely with cross-functional teams, plant operations, vendors, and technology partners to drive initiatives such as
Industry 4.0 automation, IoT/SCADA/MES modernization, cloud adoption, analytics, mobility platforms, and cybersecurity enhancements

The role ensures all projects are delivered
on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives
Lead end-to-end execution of digital projects across plants and corporate teams.
Define project scope, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budgets.
Prepare project charters, schedules (MS Project/JIRA), risk registers, and stakeholder maps.
Monitor project progress and manage risks, issues, and change requests.
Ensure compliance with PMO standards, governance, and documentation.
2. Digital Transformation
Drive digital roadmaps to improve productivity, quality, automation, and compliance.
Lead Industry 4.0 initiatives: IoT connectivity, MES/SCADA modernization, predictive maintenance, and shop-floor dashboards.
Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies (RPA, AI/ML, cloud, mobility).
3. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Collaborate with production, quality, SCM, HR, finance, and maintenance teams.
Conduct workshops and gather business/technical requirements.
Manage vendors, system integrators, and OEMs to ensure milestone delivery.
Provide updates to senior leadership and steering committees.
4. Solution Implementation & Integration
Coordinate integration between factory systems (PLC, CNC, MES) and enterprise applications.
Oversee SIT/UAT, cutover activities, user training, and post-go-live hypercare.
Work with infrastructure/security teams to ensure secure and scalable architectures.
5. Budgeting & Cost Control
Prepare project budgets and track expenses.
Review vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure ROI.
Drive cost optimization across IT/OT deployments.
6. Cybersecurity & Compliance
Implement cybersecurity best practices for digital manufacturing systems.
Ensure adherence to IT policies, ISO standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Conduct risk assessments and support audits.
7. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain project documents: BRDs, test scripts, SOPs, training materials, closure reports.
Prepare dashboards and MIS reports for management.
Track KPIs related to downtime reduction, automation, and efficiency gains.
Required QualificationsEducation
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field.
MBA or PMP/Prince2 certification preferred.
Experience
6-12+ years total IT experience.
Minimum 3-5 years in IT project management.
Must have experience delivering
digital initiatives in manufacturing
.
Hands-on exposure to
MES, SCADA, or automation systems
.
Experience with IoT, RPA, cloud, analytics, or cybersecurity tools.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing technologies.
Understanding of networks, servers, cloud (Azure/AWS), cybersecurity basics.
Experience with PM tools: MS Project, JIRA, Asana, Trello.
Familiarity with API integration, databases, OT/IT environments.
