Purpose and Mission
Bekaert is seeking a strategic thinker with strong business acumen to manage our IT & Digital portfolio and lead critical IT transformation initiatives when required.
This role is ideal for a professional with 3-5 years of experience consulting, who brings expertise in structured problem-solving, financial analysis, business strategy, and agile ways of working-and is eager to apply these skills to IT portfolio management and transformation programs.
You will ensure IT investments align with business priorities, drive value realization, and, when needed, lead complex IT transformation projects such as M&A integrations or carve-outs-covering the full lifecycle from due diligence and TSA management to compliance, cutover planning, RAID governance, and executive reporting.

• Key stakeholder groups: Business Unit, Functions, M&A leaders, Corporate and Business Strategy.

Key Activities and Responsibilities
IT & Digital Portfolio Management

• Strategic Alignment & Investment Funding

Ensure IT & Digital portfolio aligns with enterprise strategy and strategic themes. Facilitate funding decisions based on value streams and business priorities rather than individual projects. * Value-Based Prioritization
Apply Lean and Agile methodologies to prioritize digital & IT initiatives by expected business value, risk, and impact. Continuously review and adjust priorities as market and business conditions evolve. * Portfolio Roadmap & Transparency
Maintain a clear portfolio roadmap that reflects near-term commitments and long-term vision. Foster transparency by visualizing portfolio work, dependencies, and progress for stakeholders. * Agile Portfolio Operations
Coordinate with Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and product teams to ensure decentralized execution aligns with portfolio objectives by value stream. Support operational excellence and remove impediments to delivery. * Lean Governance
Oversee portfolio-level governance, including business values, technical performance, financial guardrails, compliance, and audit readiness. Monitor spending against budgets and ensure alignment with strategic investment horizons. * Metrics & Continuous Improvement
Track benefits realization, business values, financial performance, and portfolio health using metrics. Drive continuous improvement through regular reviews and feedback loops.
IT Transformation Project Management (on demand)

• Lead end-to-end IT workstreams for acquisitions, carve-outs, divestitures, and joint ventures-covering discovery, due diligence, Day-1 readiness, TSA management, integration/separation execution, and Day-100 stabilization.
• Define and manage IT M&A plans, resource models, budgets, and critical paths with clear go/no-go criteria for milestones (Day-1/Day-100), including rollback and contingency strategies.
• Ensure regulatory and compliance alignment by coordinating with Security, Legal, and Compliance on data privacy (e.g., GDPR), export controls, and audit requirements; manage TSAs and service disentanglement.
• Drive cutover planning and execution, including testing and hypercare across applications and infrastructure; safeguard business continuity for manufacturing and customer-facing processes.
• Maintain robust governance through RAID logs; proactively manage risks, issues, and changes with transparent escalation and decision facilitation.
• Provide executive-ready reporting via status updates, dashboards, and decision papers for the M&A Steering Committee.

Skills

• Structured problem-solving and analytical rigor.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate business priorities into IT portfolio decisions.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with ERP (SAP), AI, cloud platforms, and IT project delivery basics.
• Certifications like PMP, SAFe are a plus.

Experience

• At least 3 years' experience in top strategic consulting firms and lead or played as key members in IT/digital transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of business strategy, financial modeling, and governance processes.

Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, STEM, IT, or related field. MBA is preferred.
