The role The IT Support Officer is responsible for the provision of a wide range of first and second level support services that includes desktop support, computer lab support, server administration,technical advice and client specific technical IT support depending upon the services required by the Client. To be successful within this role you will ideally have worked in a similar environment where customer focus and a sense of urgency is highly regarded. Major accountabilities The IT Support Officer is accountable for:

The effective delivery of professional customer service meeting the performance levels set out in the service level agreement with the Client

Completing a variety of projects in line with the needs and requirements of the client group and ECA standards

Ensuring ITS and ECA standards and processes are implemented and monitored within the client's area.Major functions of this position The incumbent is responsible for the effective delivery of professional customer service meeting the performance levels set out in the service level agreement with the Client. This involves;

desktop support service to the client, reliable and efficient back up service for the client's workgroup areas

advice to the client on hardware, operating systems and software requirements

advice and assistance to staff in the installation, configuration and use of computer software

advice and troubleshooting assistance in diagnosing hardware faults and organises remedial action to be undertaken

attending to jobs logged on the service desk system for support of desktops and other matters for the Client

setting up new equipment for the Client

Provide advice with regard to technical issues regarding efficient, secure storage of corporate data.

The incumbent is responsible for completing a variety of projects. This involves undertaking relevant research, problem solving, consulting with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate, making recommendations for action, implementing outcomes and monitoring progress of work. Projects may include; o implementing lease rollouts of replacement computers o research on software, upgrades, operating systems, hardware and computers optimising efficiency and improving IT performance within the client's area.

The incumbent will be responsible for Implementing standard ECA and ITS processes. For example, the incumbent will be responsible for the use and implementation of standard practices for the deployment of images for pc rollouts and complying with standard practices for the logging and tracking of incidents and requests on the Service Desk.

The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the administration of servers under the management of the ITS Operations Coordinator. This will include proactively monitoring system capacity and performance and workgroup administration and periodically testing server backups.

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the Clients computer lab facilities and specialist labs where applicable.Qualifications

Relevant degree in Information Technology or related field.

Basic Foundations Course in ITILExperience required

Demonstrated successful experience in operating within an IT support team environment and in meeting deadlines

Providing exceptional levels of customer service.

Demonstrated successful experience in working within Macintosh and/or Windows environment.

Demonstrated experience in setting up and maintaining Windows workgroup

Pay: ?35,000.00 - ?45,000.00 per month
