The IT Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining, and upgrading all technology systems that support the school's academic and administrative operations. This includes network infrastructure, hardware, software, smart classrooms, security systems, data management, and technical support to staff and students.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
:
1. Technology Infrastructure & Network Management
Monitor network performance, ensure uptime, and troubleshoot connectivity issues promptly.
Oversee data backups, storage systems, and disaster recovery planning.
2. Educational Technology Support
Evaluate and recommend new EdTech solutions to enhance teaching and learning.
4. Data Security & Compliance
Implement cybersecurity measures, including antivirus, firewalls, and secure access controls.
Ensure data privacy and compliance with relevant laws (e.g., student data protection, CBSE/ICSE/IB guidelines if applicable).
Maintain regular data backups and create disaster recovery procedures.
5. Team Management & Vendor Coordination
Lead & manage the IT support team of associates & executives (technicians, lab assistants) and allocate tasks effectively for both the branches.
Liaise with vendors for procurement, warranty claims, AMC renewals, and timely servicing of equipment.
Liaise with vendors for outsource program with their representatives.
Negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality service.
7. Technical Support & Helpdesk
Maintain a ticketing/complaint system to track and resolve issues within defined SLAs.
Conduct regular training for staff on technology use and cybersecurity awareness.
8. Strategic Planning & Budgeting
Prepare the annual IT budget covering hardware, software, licenses, and training needs.
Plan for technology upgrades aligned with the school's growth and curriculum goals.
Recommend innovative solutions for cost optimization and energy efficiency.
9. Other School-Specific Duties
Oversee functioning of biometric attendance systems and access controls.
Support school events (Annual Day, PTMs, competitions) by managing sound, lighting, and live-streaming setups.
