Head of IT to lead the university's technology operations and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing IT strategies that support academic excellence, research innovation, and administrative efficiency across the institution.
This is a senior leadership role that requires a balance of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and collaborative leadership to meet the evolving technological needs of a modern academic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic IT Leadership
The candidate will develop and execute a comprehensive IT roadmap aligned with the university's academic and operational goals. They will ensure that IT systems and services enhance teaching, learning, research, and student engagement.
IT Governance & Compliance
The candidate will establish IT policies, governance frameworks, and best practices to ensure regulatory compliance, data security, and operational integrity.
Academic & Research Support
The candidate will collaborate with deans, faculty, and researchers to provide technology solutions that enable digital learning platforms, research computing, and access to global academic resources.
Infrastructure & Network Management
The candidate will oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of campus-wide infrastructure including networks, data centers, cybersecurity systems, and cloud services.
Service Delivery & Operations
The candidate will lead the IT support team in delivering reliable and responsive services to faculty, students, and administrative staff. They will implement helpdesk systems, monitor service levels, and enhance user experience.
Project & Vendor Management
The candidate will manage key IT projects such as ERP systems, LMS upgrades, and smart campus initiatives. They will oversee vendor relationships and procurement processes to ensure value and quality.
Team Leadership & Development
The candidate will build and mentor a high-performing IT team. They will promote professional development and create a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field (Master's preferred)
Minimum 8-10 years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
Experience in an academic or higher education environment is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of educational technologies, campus networks, cybersecurity, cloud platforms and data governance
Demonstrated ability to lead complex IT initiatives, manage budgets and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
