Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. The vacancy is for an IT infrastructure Manager, managing the Application Hosting and data caching estate within Cloud and Middleware organization. Application Hosting is the organization which designs, builds and maintains the Bank\'s Middleware Application Hosting and Data caching IT infrastructure. This role is for the Infrastructure Manager (VP) who is responsible for owning, delivering, and maintaining Middleware application hosting and Data caching components for all global customers. This role also has ownership of defining product strategy & roadmap for application hosting and data caching and its execution. This role is expected to work in collaboration with global projects and services along with US business units like USCB/BCUS.
What will you be doing?

• Ownership of application hosting and data caching products & Product life cycle management
• Design, Create, Support & Own Community Image pipelines for central provisioning
• Image hardening & Secure distribution addressing vulnerabilities/bug fixes
• Design, Create, Support & Own product specific security governance framework
• Long term product strategy and roadmap vision & execution
• Own & Manage life cycle of community and Vendor images
• Own and maintain CHEF cookbook secure product solutions
• Able to lead design & development of Engineering solutions
• Management of workstreams across a global team (UK, India and US)
• Customer collaboration to reduce tech Debt (legacy estate)
• Stakeholder Management, communication & address escalations
• Good understanding of Change/incident/problem management
• Lead/Contribute to estate wide initiatives & planning & Drive Automation workstreams
• Lead and Manage Application Hosting Classic estate Support
• Customer Collaboration on requirement and delivery pipeline
• Adhere to RISES \xe2\x80\x93 Barclays values

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
15\xe2\x80\x93 20 years of total experience with at least 6 years of leading experience and at least 5 years of DevOps operating
model experience

• Technical skills \xe2\x80\x93 Image Management, API , CI/CD pipelines. CHEF, Ruby, Jenkins, Shell Scripting,

Nexus, dockers, Kubernetes, JBoss, Tomcat, WebSphere Application server, Apache http, Grid gain, coherence, and
UNIX packaging

• Understanding of complex dynamics of highly distributed Java/J2EE business applications and Data caching and

grid use cases/ patterns

• Technical hands on and leading experience on Image life Cycle Management (Vendor and Community)
• Experience on API integration
• Understanding & expertise on overall containerization eco system
• Understanding of Monolithic to Microservices transition roadmap
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Cloud knowledge/experience (OpenShift/ AWS/Azure)
• Docker/Kubernetes knowledge/experience
